Sustainability

As a small business we aim to be as conscious as possible. This this has been a journey and continues to be as an ever-improving aim.
We don’t accept single use plastic, which was the go-to packaging of most of the artisans in Colombia. Th artisans we work with now incorporate plastic free packaging into their sales
in Colombia too, so it feels great to be spreading the message!
We try to upcycle as much as possible, from our product material (melon seeds/flowers), to our event display (upcycling items from my parents’ garage), packaging (previously used paper), and business cards (old food/item boxes/Christmas cards).
For about 5 months of the year, during summer events and Christmas season, we are living in a self-sufficient van, running off solar panels for our daily lives, as well as for event lights, card readers and phone chargers etc.
All our makers receive a fair wage, and we contribute a large amount to their yearly sales. When we are able to give a bonus, we do. We choose to do this rather than donating to organised project at this point. In the future, as our business hopefully expands, we would like to donate towards the indigenous tribes of Colombia.
